David Bond

Journalist and Broadcaster

David Bond is an experienced senior journalist and broadcaster who has worked as an editor and correspondent at the top of the UK national media for the last two decades.

David is currently the FT’s Security and Defence Editor covering matters of national security, the intelligence agencies and global defence. Prior to that he was the FT’s European Media Correspondent.

Before joining the FT, David Bond was the BBC Sports Editor leading BBC News’ on-air coverage of major sports stories on flagship programmes such as the News at Ten and the Today Programme. During his time at the BBC he led news coverage of the London 2012 Olympics, the 2010 South Africa World Cup and the Fifa corruption scandal. This was the culmination of 15 years as a sports journalist which also covered periods with the Telegraph, the Sunday Times and the Evening Standard.

David’s experience as a senior broadcast and print journalist means he is well suited to chairing and presenting conferences and events, moderating panel discussions and conducting in depth interviews. As well as extensive broadcast experience he also now has over three years experience in events presentation.
