David Rowan is WIRED UK’s edition founding editor-in-chief, Condé Nast’s award-winning technology-and-innovations magazine that strives to stay ahead of the trends transforming our world as well as technology columnist for The (UK) Sunday Times.

He’s taken 125 flights in the past year to investigate the companies and entrepreneurs changing our world, recently spending time with the founders of WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Google, Spotify, Xiaomi, Nest, Twitter and countless other disruptive startups from Tel Aviv to Shenzhen.  David has interviewed influencers ranging from will.i.am to James Murdoch, Zaha Hadid to David Cameron.

At WIRED he has extended the brand into conferences, apps, and a consulting business. He is also co-founder of FlowJourneys.com, taking amazing people for weekend adventures in the world’s most extraordinary locations. And he is still searching for the future.

He has keynoted on technology, business and innovation themes from Melbourne to Monaco, and has chaired and moderated high-profile events for the UK and French governments, for Google Zeitgeist and TED Global, and for international banks and Fortune 100 businesses.

David Rowan has written columns in GQ, Condé Nast Traveller, Campaign, The Times and The Guardian and has been a newspaper editor for publications including The Jewish Chronicle and The Guardian’s websites and Comment pages. David has produced TV films for Channel 4 News and has written features for The Telegraph Magazine, Sunday Times Magazine and The Observer.

David is an early-stage investor in 40 tech companies and co-founder of FlowJourneys.com, taking amazing people for weekend adventures in the world’s most extraordinary locations. And he is still searching for the future.

His most recent awards include Techmark Technology Journalist of the Year, DMA Editor of the Year and British Society of Magazine Editors’ Editor of the Year.

David brings his extensive experience as a newspaper and magazine editor, and television broadcaster, to communicating complex trends in clear, accessible ways that give audiences that “Aha” moment of understanding. His presentations are fast-paced, energetic, visually stimulating, packed with concrete examples, and infused with wit.

He is currently writing a book about the innovation models that smart companies are using and is on a global quest for successful examples of corporate innovation in the face of technology-led disruption.
