Geeta Sidhu-Robb is an inspirational mother of three, Board Apprentice to Invesco Select Perpetual Trust, ex corporate lawyer and entrepreneur with a remarkable life story.
She gave up her career as a corporate lawyer to set up her own business, Nosh Detox in 2008, after her son’s severe food allergies, eczema, asthma and anaphylaxis as a baby led her to retrain as a food technician and nutritionist. From that moment, she fast learnt how to provide a nutritious, balanced and safe diet for her son and in turn, the whole family. Her focus was on allergy free foods, nutrition, diet and organic produce – she was determined she could make him fit and well through nutrition, despite doctors believing only steroids and drugs were the way to control his conditions. Although her son’s conditions were the driving force that lead her to retrain, natural remedies and nourishment through food and nature have been inherited and inspired by her mother. “I have fond memories of walking around our garden at home when I was a little girl… Mum would always sniff half the flower and eat the other half! She has totally influenced my belief in natural remedies – for example raw turmeric in cuts, turmeric and honey for coughs, a natural face mask for spots and brightening skin made with chick pea flour/turmeric/yogurt, plus many many more” comments Geeta.
To her amazement, seven years later Nosh Detox has been valued at £3.5 million and Nosh’s customers include Gwynneth Paltrow, Georgia May Jagger and Cara Delivigne. Nosh Detox develops food that tackles everything from treating problem skin, weight issues and digestive problems to coping with stress and fighting infections.
In 2017, Geeta Sidhu-Robb launched her first Nosh retail product Nosh Raw smoothie, the world’s first 100% raw smoothie using exclusive cold press technology known as High Pressure Processing (or HPP), which allows the fruit and other ingredients in each Nosh Raw Smoothie variant to retain more naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and enzymes than any other conventional smoothie (which are heat treated using gentle pasteurisation). Six months later, using the same cold press technology, Geeta launched Nosh Raw Fruity, a range of four delicious flavours of juice that offer the closest thing to home made smoothies and juices, for people on the go.
Geeta’s empire doesn’t stop at home delivery detox and retail on-the-go raw juices. In January 2013 she launched a Nosh Infusion Clinic to administer IV vitamin drips.
Geeta’s vision is for the name Nosh to become synonymous with raw and healthy living – just as BUPA is synonymous with private healthcare or Hoover is synonymous with vacuum cleaners.
Geeta describes herself as a food technician and nutritionist with a thorough understanding on how nutrition affects body functions. She has spent over a decade working with children with autism, ADD, ADHD, asthma, eczema and allergies, and seeing how diet affects them and what helps them to be calmer, and have more focused energy.
Geeta also has experience working with children who need absorb the most nutrition from the least amount of food, with the result being greater focus and attention and has worked hard to develop meals that simply work better within their bodies.
For over 10 years, Geeta Sidhu-Robb has pursued a holistic approach to the body and mind and its functionality. She believes in a lifestyle approach incorporating nutrition, yoga, exercise and healing modalities such as homeopathy and acupuncture. Geeta has inspired thousands of men and women all over the UK to improve not only their health and well-being but their complete mind set in the way they look at life and their lifestyles.
