James Alexander is an experienced entrepreneur and business advisor. He is currently Director of FutureAgenda.org, the world’s largest open foresight programme – looking at the World in 2025. He is also an advisor to a number of innovative finance payers including Seedrs, Loot, Spacehive, LandBay and Tandem.
James co-founded Zopa, the world’s first peer to peer lender (“eBay for money”). Zopa is a disruptor (like Uber, Airbnb etc). It is multi-award winning and growing strongly.
Prior to Zopa, he was Strategy Director at Egg. He joined Egg to create new things launching Egg’s digital TV and mobile services and the UK’s first and most successful account aggregation service. Before Egg, James worked at LEK Consulting, where he developed the business case for Smile, Co-operative Bank’s Internet bank.
James Alexander has been a growth/innovation consultant for more than 20 years, helping organisations innovate and grow. These include HSBC, Tesco, Eurostar, The Guardian – but also the likes of Just Giving and Save The Children. James also advises a number of social ventures and charities including the RSPB (where he was previously a Trustee), the GoodLab, the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, GreenThing and as Chair of Gen Community Ventures.
