Rising Global disOrder: Risks and Challenges for Europe and beyond

With political upheaval and economic instability continuously lingering globally, the international landscape grows increasingly unpredictable. The experiment of a united Europe is confronting mounting challenges on several fronts, particularly within the political, economic and security realms. Continuous, and rising, turbulence in the Middle East and North Africa exponentially complicates the scenario. U.S. reluctance to engage more pro-actively further contributes to the brewing turmoil. Uncertainty will prevail for the foreseeable future as dynamics fluctuate and a new global paradigm has yet to emerge. Within the context of this setting, Marco Vicenzino, an internationally renowned world affairs analyst, will discuss the forces driving global transformation, including the challenges and risks for Europe and beyond.

Global Strategy Briefing (GSB)

GSB provides monthly geopolitical executive briefings through face-to-face and conference-call formats which includes an in-depth analytical presentation of the month’s leading global developments, events and issues. It is followed by a Question & Answer session
with executives. It may also include direct communication during times of international crises and breaking news that directly impacts the client’s business. GSB provides a real-time opportunity for
executives to engage in an open discussion with colleagues about geopolitical complexities challenging international business.

Populism's Next Frontier: Italy's 2018 Election & Europe's Future

Europe confronts another crucial electoral contest with populism as Italy, the Eurozone’s third-largest economy, goes to the polls in early 2018. Italy’s tenuous political landscape has the anti-establishment Five Star Movement neck-and-neck with the ruling center-left Democratic Party. Both narrowly trailing a possible center-right coalition including former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia, the euroskeptic and anti-migrant Northern League and the small, far-right nationalist Brothers of Italy. In the meantime, Italy’s political dysfunction, economic stagnation and lingering toxic debt continues, to concern investors and the Eurozone’s future. Within the context of this setting, internationally renowned global affairs expert Marco Vicenzino will discuss the forces and complexities dominating Italy’s political landscape and post-electoral prospects impacting Italy, the broader Eurozone and the rapidly changing world beyond.

Italy's Populist Surge: Challenges for Europe and Beyond

The anti-establishment parties have clearly emerged as the winners of Italy’s election. The populist Five Star Movement has become the biggest party. Together with the right-wing Northern League and the far-right Brothers of Italy, populist parties comfortably won over 50% of the vote. As no party or alliance has a majority, the country faces lengthy coalition talks that can last months.
