Nick Davies is a trainer to The Royal Household, an author, global speaker and trainer on communication skills to organisations of all sizes, from the Caribbean to New Zealand (the long way around!)
Nick began his first business at 19, when he set up a catering firm with a good friend. It failed but the lessons he learned proved invaluable and led him to pursue a career in sales.
Always one for a touch of the theatrical and wild change in career direction – & prompted by near bankruptcy due to a failed business venture – at 26; Nick decided to become a barrister. He began working full-time at the shoe retailer, Russell & Bromley and studied part-time for a law degree.
6 years later, he was called to the Bar and specialised in health, safety and environmental law. So enthralled and enchanted was he, he left after 6 months, moved to Edinburgh to start, yet another business, this time, in recruitment and with his sister.
The business thrived and one day Nick was asked by a recruitment client to help improve their business development skills, which lead to him writing and delivering his first training course in 2005. It was crap. However, the feedback was reasonable enough to spend time getting better.
Since 2006, Nick’s got really good at what he does, even picking up some awards along the way! His unique, down to earth, practical and amusing delivery style is in demand across the world and by organisations which include: The BBC, Siemens, Credit Agricole, Thomas Cook, The Alzheimer’s Society, Maersk, Allen & Overy , RBS, SkyScanner, and Her Majesty The Queen, which want him to teach & speak about: Selling, Negotiating, Influencing, Persuading, Networking, Establishing and Building relationships and how to speak and present to an audience.
As well as training he also performs stand-up, delivers after-dinner speeches, hosts award ceremonies and is highly experienced at addressing large audiences. Over the years Nick has worked with The Rt. Hon. Michael Portillo, Sir Digby Jones, Jenny Bond, Kate Adie, Roger Black MBE, Alan Hansen and Alastair Campbell.
