Shola Kaye is a communication consultant, author of two books and an award-winning speaker. Her keynote and masterclass topics include communication for diversity and inclusion, workplace communication – in particular for technical teams – and workplace empathy. She also speaks about how to create a more inclusive environment for introverts, especially within the technical/data/STEM work space.
Shola has been featured in Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar and on the BBC and is often called upon to chair and facilitate conferences and events. In her role of communication consultant, Shola hosts a popular podcast, and has created a top 10 rated weekly video blog. Shola’s first book was an Amazon.com number one bestseller and her second book will be released soon.
She has a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, and then went on to obtain a Postgraduate teaching qualification from Oxford University before completing her Masters degree in Neuroscience and Analytical Chemistry at Emory University in the USA.
She then went into IT and management consultancy working in both the USA and the UK, finding that utilisation rates and engagement of certain groups were at lower than optimal levels.
Shola eventually left the corporate world for a while and built a career for herself as a professional singer. She entertained clients on four continents for more than 15 years, performing at venues from The Savoy Hotel to outdoor festivals. During Shola’s keynotes she uses skills she picked up during this time as a performer to engage her audiences. It has been the foundation of her unique, creative and energetic approach.
In 2016 Shola won the Jenny Seagrove Speaking award. She has also presented a TEDx speech on Empathy in the Workplace. Her speeches and programmes are in demand and she is frequently rebooked or tasked with running the same programme at multiple client locations. Shola provides keynotes, masterclasses and seminars.
